yesterday one of my brothers asked me what is God's heart towards power. i answered that it is for us to be good stewards of it. there's more to it (of course).
- Power is to witness to the world that Jesus Christ is alive (power to overcome death thru resurrection (John 10:18)).
- Power is for us to overcome trouble (power to get wealth (Deut 8:18), power of life and death in the tongue (Prov 18:21), power of our words (Ecc 8:4), power to to perform miracles such as healing (Mark 3:15, Acts 6:8)).
- Power is for God to show Himself strong when we are weak (Isa 40:29).
- Power is for authority (dominion over unclean spirits (Mark 6:7)).
- Power has given to us all things that [pertain] to life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3).

Psalm 18 is a splendid psalm of the Father's love for me in all His power and might.
It opens with exalting Yahweh Elohim.
Then in verse 6, I call upon Yahweh and He heard me.
From verse 7 to 19, it's amazing how
swiftly Daddy comes to the rescue in all His might and majesty:
- Furious at the enemy against me (v7)
- Scattering the enemy (v13)
- Destroying the enemy (v14)
- Saved me from drowning in my troubles (v16)
- Delivering me from the strong enemy (v17)
- Supporting me (v18)
...doing all these because "He delighted in me". (v18)
The psalm goes on to talk about being rewarded, restoration, victory, deliverance and strength - all from my Daddy.
Truly amazing.
All I need to do is to cry out to Him.

when pastor pronounced the blessing of Jacob over me yesterday, i didn't know it was going to hit me so soon. truly, this is going to be the best term yet! (let's not start about the following term! that's gonna surpass this!)
The blessing of Jacob (Gen 27:28-29)v28: Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven
(favour), of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine
(material blessings).
v29: Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be master over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be those who bless you!
indeed, when pastor shared about that testimony of someone cursing another pastor and getting crushed under a load of timber,
cursed be everyone who curses you. today, it has come full circle and i've watched Daddy God protect me. i've never wanted this to happen, but i am in awe of Daddy who watches over me 24/7 (now i see a new light of it!) and He really does defend me.

as i was reading Psalm 108 for the year, the H.S. impressed on me to check up the Hebrew for v8-9.
v8:
Gilead (
witness) is Mine;
Manasseh (
causing to forget) is mine;
Ephraim (
I shall be doubly fruitful) also is the helmet for My head;
Judah (
praise) is My lawgiver.
v9:
Moab (
of my Father) is My
washpot (
to wash); over
Edom (
blood) I will cast My shoe; over
Philistia (
mourning) I will triumph.
and this is what i picked up.
in the year 2008,
- the H.S. will witness to me the goodness, grace, mercy and love of my Daddy (Gilead)
- ...and witness (remind) to me that He remembers my sins no more (i.e. i am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!) (Manasseh)
- guarding my heart -> and He guards my head with thoughts and reminders that i shall be doubly fruitful this year (Ephraim)
- and the thing to do? PRAISE HIM ALL THE TIME! (Judah)
- everyday, to remember that i am my Father's (Moab is my washpot)
- i am covered in the blood of Jesus everywhere i go (Edom)
- whatever mournings, whatever the devil tries to bring against me to make me despair, I WILL TRIUMPH. (Philistia)
awesome stuff! :D

i got back my marketing midterm grade.
God is good.
i was just thinking back about the sunday before my marketing midterm when i spoke to coach jo at the counter. she asked me how i could be so calm and not rushing off to study despite having to serve.
to which i replied what caught in my heart when pastor benjamin spoke at a servers' meeting - to serve when it is inconvenient. there is no challenge in serving God if i make it convenient for myself. i see God in challenges :)
and God delivered.
average grade for midterm: B-
God's grade for me: A-

i had a dream last night.
i was in some sort of teambuilding session building a wooden model with my team.
we had to design the layout of some seaside place complete with a port.
even though the model was small, when it was eventually submitted, it suddenly got magnified.
that got me thinking.
what we are serving God with, to us it may seem small. but in the hands of God, it is magnified a thousand times over! the words that we say, the lives that we have encountered may seem trivial, but God sees, God magnifies and God says they are good works.
cool stuff.
